Matt and I finally got to take a vacation together! First one in eight years of marriage! We spent four days at Disney World and it was so much fun. We needed that alone time to reconnect and remember how we were as a couple before our little ones came along.
I'm finally using my GI Bill entitlement and am going to go to school! Right now I'm just going for my AA, but it is possible I could earn a four year degree at some point and end up doing something glamorous like accounting.
Erica will be entering first grade and couldn't be more excited. Apparently she's been told that first graders have a lot of homework and are very important people in elementary school. I'm going to let her go with that. I am so thankful she is excited for school and likes going. I have a feeling she's going to be a little book worm like her mommy.
Matt will be leaving for a far off location for around four months. Obviously, because of security reasons I won't say where he'll be on this blog. It's not like he's some big wig and his location is of vital importance to a potential terrorist threat, but a chain is only as strong as it's weakest link. Loose lips sink ships!
This will be the first deployment for our family since Matt became a PJ. Two PJs lost their lives in Afghanistan in June and we were friends with them. Their loss was felt across the small, close knit pararescue community. It has made Matt's impending deployment that much more stressful for us. We appreciate prayers for the families who lost heroes and for Matt's safety.
